Pastures Company of Archers are a friendly target archery club in Derby based in Mickleover at the grounds adjacent to Mickleover Country Park Social Club (Formerly Pastures Sports and Social Club). We have a good mixture of ages and abilities, shooting longbow, recurve and compound.

Archery dates back to around 10,000 years (although no-one can actually confirm that!), when bows and arrows were first used for hunting and warfare, developing into a weapon that shaped the destinies of Kingdoms and became a competitive activity practised in medieval England.

A tense and testing sport that requires immense reserves of skill and nerve, Archery is now practised in more than 140 countries around the world.

As a club and individually we enter the local and national leagues, summer and winter plus attend numerous other shoots throughout the year. You can go to as many or as few as you like, some members just shoot for the warm summer days and others brave the ‘Frostbites” (Winter outdoors!).

In Winter we also organise an indoor session (currently Thursday evenings at Allestree Woodlands School Sports Hall).
